AIRcable for Cable Replacement

Cable replacement combinations provide a convenient way of connecting a computer with serial devices such as laboratory equipment, point-of-sale devices, scanners, printers and even other computers without using any cables. AIRcable products are used for wireless communication between a Palm or PC and CNC machines, sewing machines, surface pumping systems, car diagnostic tools, livestock tracking, and power pole monitoring.

Bluetooth Barcode Scanner

Use the LaserChamp Bluetooth scanner from Serialio.com with your PC, laptop, Palm, or PocketPC. The USB Bluetooth radio dongle for Linux, and Windows provides seamless connectivity for the LaserChamp Bluetooth scanner. Software for working with the scanner is provided by SerialIO (click here).

Telescope Control

Use AIRcable to Bluetooth enable your telescope. Astromist, astronomy software, along with AIRcable allows you to control your telescope with a PDA or PC wirelessly. AIRcable can even Bluetooth enable your digital setting circle, giving you position information wirelessly (see set up information below).

Digital Settings Circles (DSC)

• TheSky for PocketPC
• Astromist for Palm

Bluetooth enable setup steps:

• Use an AIRcable MALE device with the following settings:
  • 9600 baud
  • hardware handshake disabled
• Power on the AIRcable first (put power, 9V battery e.g., to pin 9 and pin 4,
  pin 5 is GND, pin 2 and 3 are for data transmission)
• Connect AIRcable to the Tangent device
• Make a Bluetooth connection from the PocketPC
• Then initialize the SKY program completely
• Then turn on the Tangent device
• At that moment the Tangent will send the data to the SKY program and it starts the readings.
